Yes, I am quite new to Instagram, though I now have been quite active over the last 8 to 10 months. With a few hundred pictures shared on this Social Media, it’s a good time to look back at the “feedback” (Likes & Comments”) received…
The results are actually quite unsettling, and quite different from the pictures I sell year after year through my Stock Image Agency. I clearly did not anticipate several trends:
- Portraits are not popular… Not a single of the many portraits I made in Africa, Asia & South America come in the Top 30 of my pictures on Instagram. That’s a huge surprise!
- Wildlife is not much more popular: though I have sold quite a few Wildlife Pictures over the last 8 years, only 6 made it to the Top 30. Not impressive enough? Not inspiring enough? I cannot tell…
- Egually popular are Architecture Pictures (THAT came as a real surprise) & Landscape Pictures (especially those with Sunrises or Sunsets).
