How Much Does This Costs?

Ugandan Shillings (approx. 700 Euros)Traveling Around the World in 2007 – 2008, we spent 20.700 € per person for one year (see “Budget for a Round The World Trip”). Almost half of that we spent within 2.5 months in the Pacific Region. For these upcoming trips, most of the countries will be relatively cheap places to travel to, except those in Africa. Safaris in Zambia, Botswana or Tanzania – no matter where – never come cheaply. So Gilles expects to spend less than on our Round The World Trip. Give or take a few thousand Euros, that means approx. 14-16k € a year.

How Can You Afford To Travel For So Long?

I am no longer in my twenties and have worked in well-paying jobs for quite a few years. On top of that I spend very little money: I don’t own a car, we don’t play golf, I live in a mid-sized apartment, I hardly ever frequent fancy restaurants, I do not splurge on expensive clothes or jewelry, I don’t gamble, to make it short I save all my money to be able to travel extensively…
