Follow Your Dreams? What Do You Mean?

Let me maybe start with two highly inspiring quotes, which I try to live up to as much as I can:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” (Mark Twain).

One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.” (Paulo Coelho)

This approach was driving me when I decided to take a sabbatical and Travel Around The World for one year back in 2007. I stopped postponing my dreams! Most people I talk to worry whether they can afford taking time off from work to travel. I did too, though it was unjustified. Neither I nor any of the people mentioned had any regrets or were poorer after returning. Actually I felt a lot richer, richer in experience, but also because I realized how well off we were compared to most of the world’s population. I complained less about what are minor issues, making me more content and happy altogether.

When is the right time to leave? Nomadic Matt has a good answer: “Why It’s Never The Perfect Time To Travel”.

So what stops you from Traveling, Discovering, Experiencing? Follow Your Dreams!
